Emerging Technology; A Blessing and a Curse

December 16, 2011

Believe me, I know, you’re busy. It’s one thing after another, right? Well, technology is not one of the things to move to the bottom of the priority list. It’s important to stay aware of what is currently available and new trends that could potentially benefit your organization.

However, there are several difficulties associated with implementing new technology. Is it affordable, do you have the time and resources to learn how to use it, does everyone even agree on what technology to use? Jumping on the tech bandwagon can be an overwhelming process, keeping many small- to medium-sized companies from investing.

LeadingAge’s Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST) released a report that details how providers are implementing and using technology as well as the challenges associated with the new organization. The report features 18 case studies of long term care facilities who have been successful in implementing a new technology in their daily operations. Do any of these situations or problems sound familiar?  Are you hesitant to make the commitment to an EMR, social media platform, or some other form of software that will impact your entire facility?

At SureQuest we have a particular interest in technology to benefit long-term and acute care facilities; we spend our days trying our best to provide you with foodservice management software that will be affordable, easy-to-use, and provide  solutions instead of more problems.
